NEW GLASGOW, N.S. -  Antigonish rockers The Trews return to Nova Scotia today to headline the second night of the 2008 New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee. Having toured the US and Canada this year supporting their third album, No Time for Later, our hometown 'Fab Four' say they're looking forward to playing close to home.

"We haven't done a lot of East Coast since the record's come out so we're just excited to get down and play the new material, have a good time and see some familiar faces," says lead singer and guitarist Colin MacDonald.

Now in its 13th year, the Jubilee is an annual 4-day showcase of local and regional acts. The lineup includes established headliners, fan favourites and up-and-coming artists, often with ties to the area.

“The 13th Annual Jubilee will continue the tradition of being a mainstay of tourism for Pictou County,” says Jubilee Chair Valerie Ryan. “This year’s event highlights well known headliners with a continued focus on artists that have Pictou County roots.”

The Jubilee opened Thursday night with Jamie Sparks and closes Sunday with Dave Gunning.

Apart from The Trews, also taking the stage at the 13th annual Jubilee are:

Matt Mays & El Torpedo
Faber Drive
Jully Black
Dave Gunning
Deric Ruttan
The Stampeders
Beyond Ash
Alert the Medic
Jamie Sparks
Above All Else
Steven Bowers
Tom Fun Orchestra
and more!
