GuessWhosDriving.jpg Motorists and pedestrians beware: two of Halifax's most captivating singer/songwriters are teaming up to take their music on the road this spring, but which one will be behind the wheel as they travel between 10 shows in 7 east coast communities is anybody's guess.

Kicking off at Halifax's Company House on May 21, the duo will navigate their way through northeastern Nova Scotia to Antigonish, (May 22 - StFX Art Gallery), Sydney, (May 23 - The Upstairs Room), Truro (May 24 - Fair Trade Community Café) and to Newfoundland for dates in St. John's (June 2 - The Grapevine, June 3 - Distortion, June 4 - The Bull & Barrell, June 6- Rose & Thistle), Corner Brook (June 8 - The Bar Room) and Stephenville (June 9 – Clancy's).

The 'Guess Who's Driving?' Tour was born out of Kim and Carmel's experience travelling together to the 2009 East Coast Music Awards in Corner Brook. Carmel was driving.

“There were a couple times where I was just silent and kind of staring out the window trying to breath and just chill out,” says Wempe. “I was a little frustrated, but Carmel just laughed and we made jokes about how in the world she could get us lost after travelling to the same places in Corner Brook for four days.”

This time, Carmel is surrendering the car keys to Kim. “I'm easily distracted when I drive,” Mikol says. “This way I'll be free to look out the window and write some songs in my head, and Kim can relax and not worry I'll wander off a cliff by accident.”

Cape Breton born singer/songwriter Carmel Mikol (myspace.com/carmelmikol) has quickly gained recognition as a skilled songwriter and engaging performer. Inhabiting the space between folk lyricism and pop balladry, Carmel writes poignantly about all the adventure and angst of life as a “twenty-something.” In March, she released her "Lost Lives EP" available on iTunes. Currently, she is recording her first full length album at Cape Breton's award winning Lakewind Sound Studio and Ferguson Music Productions for a summer release.

Kim Wempe (kimwempe.com) is a Halifax based singer/songwriter with a raw and powerful voice, honest and evocative lyrics, and a down to earth presence. Her live performances have had audiences from coast to coast laughing, crying and stomping their feet. Released this spring, Kim's Digital EP features her current single, Where I Need to Be (The East Coast Love Song). Her first full length album, The Last Version, was released in 2007.

Together, Kim and Carmel deliver an unforgettable and uplifting musical experience that is not to be missed.
