Punk Babes The Bag Ladies Crash Highland Games Weekend

Toronto's best looking acoustic punk rebel duo 'The Bag Ladies' roll into town Sunday, July 19th for a performance as unique as their style. On tour with Toronto Punk/Country/Rockers 'The Burnitdowns', the ladies will be joined by Alicia Penney from Cape Breton and locals Lanny Cox and Michael Dalton for two special Antigonish performances.
From 3pm-4pm, each musician plans to play in their own shady grove behind Columbus field. Then at 7pm, they'll kick off their set at the Blackbird Cafe.
Brad Reckless caught up with the Bag Ladies recently and had this to say about their show:
"With their trusty guitars slung over their shoulders and a penchant for playing just about anywhere, The Bag Ladies are an acoustic punk duo that play rebel music with a snot nosed flair.
Staying true to the D.I.Y ethic, the Ladies, consisting of Bee Rock Steady and Messina, go out of their way to make their name and music known whether it’s by booking and promoting their own shows or spray painting their logo across city streets.
Their live performance is as passionate as it is comedic while the girls make playful stage banter between their angst driven and provoking songs. Heading out on Tour this summer on their Broke'n'Brokendown East Coast Tour, the Bag Ladies will most likely be in your town to play your favorite bar, drink your beer and crash on your floor. "
